Criminal Defense Attorney John C. Bolliger
Mr. Bolliger is a fully-grounded Tri Citian: he grew up and attended schools in Richland (K-12, graduating in 1975), he practiced law for several years in Pasco, and his law offices are now located in Kennewick.

After high school, Mr. Bolliger served a U.S. Navy enlistment as an Electronics Technician. He later worked for several years in the nuclear power plant construction/maintenance industry as an Electrical Construction Engineer.

Mr. Bolliger received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science (with a minor in Computer Science) in 1988 from the University of California at San Diego. Mr. Bolliger received his Juris Doctor Degree in 1991 from California Western School of Law, which is also located in San Diego.

Legal Career History

Mr. Bolliger prosecuted criminal defendants -- charged with misdemeanors and felonies -- while working for the San Diego County District Attorney's office as a legal intern during law school and, later, as a law clerk.

Mr. Bolliger next was a staff attorney for the U.S. Department of Energy. During that time, he served as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney -- with the U.S. Department of Justice -- in order to manage and defend litigation that had been commenced against the U.S. Department of Energy. Also at that time, during night classes, Mr. Bolliger taught two semester-length Environmental Laws courses to University of Idaho and Idaho State University undergraduate and graduate Environmental Science and Environmental Engineering students.

Mr. Bolliger next served as in-house counsel for Westinghouse Hanford Company and Fluor Daniel Hanford Company. He was later engaged in the private practice of law with a large, Seattle law firm -- practicing Intellectual Property law. For the past several years, Mr. Bolliger has been engaged in the private practice of law in the Tri Cities.

Professional Associations

Mr. Bolliger is licensed to practice law in California, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. He is a member of the State Bar of California, the Idaho State Bar, the Oregon State Bar, the Washington State Bar Association, and the Benton-Franklin Counties Bar Association. Mr. Bolliger is admitted to practice law before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Washington, the Western District of Washington, and the District of Oregon.
